Baby (The Lion King)
Kiara first at the end of The Lion King in 1994. The cub was originally genderless and named Fluffy (Although some merchandise referred to the cub as male). Since 1998 the cub has been Kiara. Her original design gave her ear rims and a pinkish nose. Her presentation was changed in The Lion King 2.
In her original presentation Rafiki brings her out and holds her up. In Simba's Pride, Nala brings Kiara to Rafiki. But the cub is Kiara, as Disney has not given any other official identity to the cub and merchandise refers the the cub as female.

Baby (The Lion King 2)
Kiara's presentation changes at the beginning of Simba's Pride. She is shown as playful and curious as she bats at leaves that fly by her. She's very giggly and laughs when Rafiki holds her up. When Rafiki pulls her down and puts jucie on her head, she looks puzzled, but when Nala nuzzles her she's thrilled.

Cub
As a cub Kiara is headstrong and playful. Simba doesn't want anything to happen to her and is very over protective, much to her dismay. Despite this, the two of them have a close bond. Kiara enjoys playing with her father and nuzzles him often. When she disappoints him she feels bad. Kiara also has a strong relationship with her mother Nala. When Nala tells her to mind her father, Kiara chuckles and says "Yes mom." She meets Kovu as a cub and they are enemies at first. After avoiding some crocodiles the two become friends. After meeting him she learns the most important lesson she'll need "We are One".

Adult
As an adult Kiara is still playful and fun. Like how she chased the birds away for Timon and Pumbaa. However, she can be serious too. When Kovu was exiled she was furious at Simba and tried to defend Kovu. She falls in love with Kovu after Rafiki introduces them to Upendi, then their relationship got more close and personal, with more nuzzles and licks. Kiara realizes how important "We are One" is and uses it to help connect The Outsiders and Pride Landers together.

Kovu (Scar)
Cub
As a cub Kovu is innocent, but has a hard exterior. He tries to act tough when he meets Kiara by growling and calling her "Daddy's little girl." However, when the crocodiles attack he stops acting tough and wants to make sure they're both safe. He even tries to distract the crocodiles so Kiara can run to safety. After the attack he's kind of awkward since he doesn't know how to play tag. When Kiara starts play fighting he's happy to do it. His fear shows through when he sees Simba and when Zira scolds him. The idea of taking over the Pride Lands doesn't appeal to him, but Zira forces it onto him.

Over time Kovu feels bad about the plan and wants to tell Kiara. After Nuka's death he gets a scar from his mother Zira, making him resemble Scar a bit. As Kiara's mate he is the next king of The Pride Lands.

He's also the reason Kovu got to join the Pride by pointing out to Simba that Kovu saved Kiara from the fire.

She is snarky and doesn't take any grief from Nuka, not thinking he'd be a good king.

Timon (Respect) and Pumbaa (Simpleton)
Timon and Pumbaa are Kiara's babysitters and watch over her often. Simba doesn't want her to get hurt so he sends them off to watch her. As a cub Kiara is annoyed with them for their over protectiveness (Pumbaa jumping into the water after her, Timon checking her for injuries and shading her with a fern leaf). However, Pumbaa does it because he seems to actually care for Kiara and her safety, while Timon is just worried what Simba would do to them if she got hurt. ("Hurt?! Simba would kill us!") They are proud of her when she goes on her first hunt and they cry in joy and pride. When Kiara's an adult she's still mad her father sends them to watch her. During her hunting lesson their relationship changes, they become very playful during the bird chasing. The promotional book "Come out and Play" however shows Kiara as a cub having a good relationship with Timon and Pumbaa and has her enjoying playing with them. It is possible in the movie universe that at some points they could've played together.

Outsiders
The Outsiders are a Pride loyal to Scar, lead by Zira. They look different than the Pride Landers: They have Outsider noses, some have spots beneath their eyes and some have half closed eyes. They see Kovu as their hope to rejoin the Pride Lands. They don't seem to be as loyal to Scar as Zira is. When Zira threatens to kill Vitani they are disgusted and join the Pride Lands. In the Outsider- Pride Lander war they are fierce fighters. Some of them were named by fans, most notably: Spotty, Dotty, Sly Eye, Scruffy, Digger and Chippy. Some times the fans accidentally call them OutLanders, but they are always referred to as Outsiders in the film.

We are One bird
A minor character who has an impact on Kiara. The bird is seen at the begging of We are One, leaving the nest while it's mother is feeding it's siblings and attempting to fly, which makes Kiara smile. The mother bird is mad and leads it back to the nest, making Kiara sad. It appears at the end of the song flying at Pride Rock. It flies around Kiara which makes her smile, before flying off. This saddens Kiara (Possibly because it's free and she's so protected), but then she smiles and watches the sun set. The bird is genderless, but it looks feminine.
